One boat with one person sailing west into the sunset.  The night before I finished painting this piece, I returned to my apartment on the beach at sunset. The hair on my neck rose high as I looked out from my balcony over the ocean at the painting I had nearly completed. The same clouds in the same shapes and colors lay full size before me while my painting rested on a ledge to the right of the door.

The Guys at the Hotel Lina

The first time I looked down the long entry corridor as I passed by the Hotel Lina on Calle Madero, the courtyard was filled with cowboys in white shirts and white hats. Sunlight bounced off all that white contrasting it with deep purple shadows while the men talked about...soccer scores, the girls they met the night before, the ones they'd meet that night....whatever guys in a small hotel in the middle of PV talk about.
